How Our Curriculum Allows Our Children to Flourish
To ensure our children flourish in all aspects of life our curriculum aims to support children’s growth in body, mind and spirit. Throughout their time in school children are presented with a wide variety of planned opportunities which aim to develop their confidence, help them realise their potential and feel empowered to use their voice to enable themselves and others to flourish.
During their time with us, our pupils gain a rich experience and understanding of Christianity, encountering Jesus’ teachings and practice to enhance not only their lives, but the lives of others. They learn about the wonderfully diverse world we live in and are taught to respect and appreciate other cultures, religions and worldviews in order to truly flourish together. Children will love and take care of others, enabling them to build strong and lasting relationships. They will be taught to develop their moral compass and act as role models for others in and outside of school, following our school behaviour expectations of being ‘Ready, Respectful, Safe.’
Our curriculum also promotes a sense of responsibility in children to become good stewards of the Earth, developing their awareness of our footprint on the environment and our hopes for a sustainable future for all. Our children are actively encouraged to serve others and take on responsibilities within our school community.
Positive and caring relationships are the thread which weaves through all of our school community-relationships, where all are valued and all value each other. All children, staff and families in school are valued as unique individuals who are loved, celebrated and supported.
Our Christian Values
Our values at Lanchester EP are informed by our vision and give children and adults the opportunity to support themselves and others to flourish.
