The School Council plays a very important role in our school community, trying to include as many things as possible for all the pupils and staff to enjoy. This begins with fortnightly meetings on a Tuesday afternoon.
We have School Council class assemblies which involves lots of discussion. Then, the School Councillors raise these at our next meeting. We try to make our school even better for everyone!
This year, we have continued to organise and run our very successful Healthy Tuck Shop. After training with Lisa from ‘Fruit2Suit’, we were assigned roles to run the Tuck Shop successfully. We sell a range of healthy drinks and snacks, including; spicy noodles, popcorn, flavoured raisins, apple bites, fresh orange juice and fresh apple juice. We sell the snacks at break time to children from Y1-6. The money we make goes into our school fund.
We have also discussed and decided on a charity to support this year – the RSPCA. We have some great ideas already for a fundraising event for this which will take place in the Summer term! Recently, we decided on colours to paint areas such as the toilets in KS2. We also took an active role in the interview process for our new Assistant Headteacher and we love to show visitors around school. We take our roles very seriously and want to make our great school even better!
