International visits are an important and enriching part of our school's offer. Children from Lanchester EP have had opportunities to travel internationally since 2010.
From 2010 until 2020, our school participated in the Comenius and Erasmus+ programmes. Children travelled to partner schools in Europe and worked alongside children in these schools on common projects with joint aims.
Since 2020, we have been successful in attracting funding from The Turing Scheme to travel internationally with children. These visits complement whole-school learning priorities and focus on exposing the children of Lanchester EP to different ways of living, different languages and different cultures.
This year, children will travel to India, the United Arab Emirates, China and Türkiye. More information about these visits can be found below.
India
Since 2023, a group of children from our school has travelled to India to immerse themselves in the completely different culture and way of life there. They have explored different religions and learned alongside pupils in our partner schools to work on projects linked to climate change and Maths.
In 2023 and 2024, we travelled to Rajkot. Our partner school there was Panchshil School and we had a very successful partnership.
Since 2025, we have established a new partnership with Kulachi Hansraj Model School in Delhi. This has included a reciprocal visit in May 2025, when children from India visited Lanchester to learn about life in England.
